What an experience!! I booked Professor Inkwell for a Hen Party for 8 people and it was so much fun, he even brought the game to us in the Airbnb we had rented for the occasion. The game was great fun with some of us finding the clues a little hard but there were hints given by the host if you really were struggling and there was defiantly something for everyone. A massive thank you to Professor Inkwell who really joined in with the spirit of the Hen group and made the afternoon a wonderful experience that everyone was raving about! I would highly recommend this game and the value for money is exceptional.
This is a new escape room based in Leamington and it was going through some teething problems when we visited, unfortunately - they were understaffed for the evening, so one person was manning two rooms, meaning we had several long pauses waiting for a response.
Apart from this, I felt a lot of effort had been put into the decor and layout of the room itself. The puzzles were a bit different - not just finding loads of 4-digit codes like other escape rooms. It took us a while to get into the flow of it, but once we'd found it, the puzzles were logical and enjoyable.
My only other comment would be that there could have been more immersion from the beginning - maybe using an intro video like other escape room companies do might help with this? We were told that once we entered the room, the power would blow and we'd be on a timer to fix it and escape; it would have been nice to actually have an explosion sound effect / flashing lights etc when we walked in, to act as nice immersion continuity.
On the whole, we enjoyed the room and are keen to try out the other two rooms on offer.
Definitely breaks the mold! We were surprised by the variety and originality of the puzzles. The owner (Tony) even managed to recycle and reinvent the now all-to-common cryptographic type puzzles. He also spent some time afterwards explaining his puzzles and how patterns emerge on his invention. We were a group of four and finished in 49 minutes.
I’ve been to many escape rooms but this is easily the best. Be prepared for the most mind-bending array of tricks and surprises you can possibly imagine. And of course it’s important to mention the great host, who has devised these devilish tasks. Highly recommended to young and old.
The cocktails were good! That’s about the only good thing I can say.
Upon arrival there were two staff running food and drinks for the whole bar/restaurant and we were standing waiting for a while. It seems that they were overworked and, in fairness, that the escape room was a bit of a burden.
The escape room itself was pretty terrible. The audio tech was a bit broken, the clues made almost no sense and the lighting so bad we resorted to our phone torches to read the clues. There seemed no clear storyline either. It was all a bit disappointing and our escape was more by luck than judgment.
When we did escape the staff barely registered it.
The price was cheap and included nice cocktails: a cute idea to drive business and cheap enough that I don’t regret going, but unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend the experience to anyone else.

Awesome! Scary! Really gets your brain thinking. The set up of the room is amazing and they’ve obviously spent a lot of money on props etc. We loved it!
